Arkansas Discovery Network Receives Donation From Children’s Hospital
$25,000 Gift Will Help Mobile Museum Continues to Make Science Fun
for 6th-Grade Students Throughout Arkansas
LITTLE ROCK, Ark.(November 21, 2008) — The Arkansas Discovery Network recently received a $25,000 donation from Arkansas Children’s Hospital to sponsor The Race for Planet ‘X’, a mobile museum designed to bring hands-on science and technology experiences to children across the state and to foster a passion for science that will lead them into the future.
The “museum on wheels” has 10 interactive exhibits to engage visitors in science and engineering skills. Once on board, crew members execute assignments on computer aided design, aerodynamic testing and laser beam splitting to gather information about Planet 'X'. The exhibits on board are aligned with the Arkansas Education Frameworks.
Thanks to sponsors like Arkansas Children’s Hospital, schools can take advantage of this great opportunity at no charge. If you would like to support this great opportunity for students you can visit the website at www.arkansasdiscoverynetwork.org for more information.
